Plot summary
The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea is a 2000 direct-to-video animated musical fantasy film that follows the adventures of Ariel's daughter, Melody, who is curious about her mermaid heritage. The movie begins with Ariel and Prince Eric celebrating Melody's birth, but their happiness is interrupted by Ursula's sister, Morgana, who tries to kidnap Melody and use her as a bargaining chip to get King Triton's trident. Ariel and Eric manage to save Melody, but they decide to keep her away from the sea and hide her mermaid origins from her. However, Melody grows up feeling restless and rebellious, longing to explore the ocean.
