It could be because they are seeing so many people flock to follow Jesus that they want their own piece of the pie. Or are they actually sarcastically demanding a sign because they think this Jesus guy is a bit ridiculous? It is an odd request, especially given the many signs he performed throughout his earthly ministry.

Why does Jesus say no sign will be given to that generation? Because the Pharisees should recognize that his actions and his teachings point to him being the great prophet, priest and king the Old Testament foresees. If only they would open their eyes and ears to see and listen!

No one argues that learning a foreign language would affect one's ability to speak fluent English. However, when it comes to ASL, there are still ignorant people who sell the narrative that if one learns to sign, they'll refuse to speak because they don't need to or whatever else they argue.
Have you ever asked God to give you a sign? It is a bold thing to do, but I believe most of us have all done it before. Sometimes out of desperation, frustration, confusion, or even isolation. A physical, tangible, visible sign is sometimes what we need to confirm that God is speaking to us.
In reviewing these passages again this week (and hearing another sermon referencing Moses asking God for a sign!), I now believe that God does want us to Him and boldly ask for signs. We should not be ashamed or afraid to go to our heavenly Father and pour out our hearts. But, as I learned from both Moses and David, we need to make sure our hearts, minds, and souls are in the right place first.
The manner (the attitude we have, the posture we take) in which we come to God, seeking His face, asking Him to show us a sign, is so very essential. We cannot demand or pout, stomping our feet or throwing a temper tantrum when God does not reveal Himself in the way that we want.

You make some great observations. It is true that we no longer need as many tangible signs because of the Holy Spirit, but I do believe God confirms things to us through His Word and through other believers.

Hello, I am 54 and have been born again for 42 of those years. I have been praying for a sign that God is actually involved in my life. Just silence. I ask this because 42+ years of unanswered prayers (actual answer),not Yes, not No, not Wait, just silence. I ask this because 42+ years of the only experience with God being complete silence and absence. I pray for God to actually be involved in my life, in a manner that I can comprehend. I pray for God to supply the ability and resources to help homeless people get off the street and glorify God in the process. I pray for the resources to help my family. I pray for a way out of this life long poverty so that I can have a proper full Christian life. Too poor for church. I pray for God to reveal my specific purpose, why I am here. Just silence. I ask because I need a boost to my faith, trust, and hope in God. After 42 years levels are low. Thanks
Notably, the study found that the quality of our experience with dogs is an important factor that can counterbalance a low level of nonverbal sensitivity. Those students who had direct experience being responsible for a dog, rather than, for example, simply living in the same household as a dog without being the primary caregiver, had positive human-dog interactions, even when a low nonverbal sensitivity might suggest otherwise. There are a couple of suggestions made about why this may be, for example, that students with more experience with dogs are better skilled at sending signals to dogs that make them feel secure and comfortable.
If you think about it, road signs are integral to keeping drivers alive. A traffic sign could mean the difference between a driver making that life-saving stop or possibly running into oncoming cars. Drivers have to making important decisions in a matter of seconds, which is why sign manufacturers create signage with the human psyche in mind.
Like color, the shape of a sign can have an effect on how drivers react. Signs with sharper points, such as a triangular-shaped sign or the octagon stop sign are usually associated with danger, whereas rectangular signs tend to convey standard information, like speed limits and directions. In essence, signs that lack sharp points or have more rounded edges do not necessarily stick out in our minds because they seem non-threatening.

I was completely sure that our situation was going to be worked out, but we recently were hit with a blow. I need a sign, a hug, a reassurance. I need you lord. I need you.
