the point of this is to document the first successful repair of windows on the new pc. hopefully, this will help others who are just about to start the repair process, and who have bought the wrong motherboard/cpu. if you are going to repair a computer, you are going to need a bootable cd to do the repair. (this is one reason why i recommend that you have a backup of important data in a separate drive, so that you can revert to it, in the unlikely event that you fail).
